Launch of online Due Diligence guidance tool
On March 6 the Dutch Social and Economic Council organized a working conference on due diligence as part of CSR, in cooperation with, among others, the NCP. During this conference, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Lilianne Ploumen launched a new online tool on due diligence guidance. With this tool, businesses and other stakeholders can understand more about how to set up and execute a due diligence process related to CSR-issues.
Doing business abroad carries a wide range of risks with it, which can be different from the risks encountered in a company’s home country. These risks can relate to child labour, the environment or corruption. The due diligence guidance tool (available in Dutch only) can help companies to identify these risks, to prevent them, to mitigate their impact and to monitor and communicate about this.
Due diligence – or, CSR risk management – is an important part of the OECD Guidelines and this new online tool provides a practical way for companies to work on and further improve their due diligence processes.
