Initial Assessment of the notification of the FNV, ITF, PSI and IndustriALL Global Union vs Chevron et al.

The Dutch NCP has accepted the notification of the FNV et al., regarding an alleged violation of the OECD Guidelines by 14 Dutch entities of Chevron. 

The notification regards alleged violations of the chapters Disclosure and Taxation of the OECD Guidelines. According to the notifying parties 14 Dutch entities of Chevron do not disclose required business information and display characteristics which indicate they are letterbox companies. Based on this, the notifying parties state that the companies are nog acting in line with the spirit of the Dutch law which offers tax benefits to companies with actual business activities in the Netherlands.  

The NCP is of the opinion that the notification merits further consideration and has offered its good offices to both parties. The notifying party has accepted the NCPs offer, but Chevron has not. The NCP will further examine the specific instance and publish its findings in the Final Statement.
